The Jamestown Community College swimming and diving team is participating in Buffalo in the National Junior College Athletic Association's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Flickinger Center.
The Jayhawks will send 14 swimmers this year, up two from last year.
Representing the Jayhawks on the women's side are Emily Windoft, Kelsey Akin, Hannah Grable, Renee Massa, Emily Holt, Erin Holley, Victoria Matteson and Sarah Madison. On the men's side Victor Hallett, Derek Hosier, Tom Prinzi, John Trombetta, Nick Burt and Phil Tubbs.
"We've had a great season this year and I want the student-athletes to go up there, swim hard but have some fun,'' JCC coach Mike Giambruno said. ''There 's going to be some fantastic swimmers and divers there from around the country and for some kids, it'll be a little overwhelming. My guidance to them is, go swim your best times and we'll see what happens - no pressure. I'm extremely proud of their season this year with several of the swimmers posting their career best times at regionals two weeks ago. That's all you can ask for as a coach and I know they'll take that drive and determination right in to national."
The meet starts today and runs through Saturday evening.
