JCC Baseball Team Loses Pair To End Richmond Trip

RICHMOND, Va. - The Jamestown Community College baseball team lost another pair of games on Sunday to finish its trip to Richmond, Va.

In the first game, the Jayhawks were shut out, 8-0, by St. Clair CC from Port Huron, Mich. In the second game, CC failed to hold a lead and fell to Garrett College from McHenry, Md., 11-9.

The Jayhawks had only four singles in the first game and they were recorded by Josh Allan, Levi Madden, Elio Gonazalez and Jose Hernandez.

The losing pitcher was Lyle Howard, who went 4 innings.

''He actually pitched very well for the first three innings,'' JCC coach Dick Adams said.

St. Clair scored three runs in the fourth inning, four in the first and one in the sixth.

In the second game, the Jayhawks led 9-7 heading into the top of the seventh inning and Garrett scored four runs to take an 11-9 lead. Then the Maryland team shut down JCC in the bottom of the inning.

Conner Borowksi had a single and a triple for JCC. Dylan Caldwell had a single, a double and two RBIs; Tyler Petersen had two singles and two RBIs; and Hernendez picked up two singles.

The losing pitcher was Christian VanNote, who worked 2 innings

JCC is back in action on Friday at Myrtle Beach, S.C., against Macomb CC from Clinton, Mich. That will be the first of seven games in seven days in Myrtle Beach for the Jayhawks.
