Rose Trippi Restivo, 83, of 9 Crane St., Jamestown, died at 6:16 a.m. Thursday (Feb, 28, 2013), in the WCA Hospital.
She was born in Jamestown, on March 23, 1929, the daughter of Joseph and Lena Inzinna Trippi.
Rose was employed as a buyer for McKaller Drug Company and had also worked at Landy Drugs. She also worked for the Office of the Aging, was a foster grandparent, and a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.
She is survived by two sons: Anthony Paterniti, Sarasota, Fla., and Joseph Paterniti, Lakewood, N.Y., three grandchildren: Marco Paterniti, Ellicottville, N.Y., Morgan Paterniti, Lakewood, N.Y. and Sophia Paterniti, Sarasota, Fla.; and a sister, Tina Russo, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Restivo, whom she married on Sept. 18, 1967; three brothers: Samuel, James and Anthony "Nin" Trippi; and by two sisters; Grace LaPlaca and Sylvia Triscari.
Rose was a very humble, yet gifted woman. As a foster grandparent in Julie Schrader's first-grade class at Lincoln Elementary School, she found joy in moulding young minds with her many artistic skills. A top-notch baker, she loved making cookies with her grandchildren, and giving a plate of cookies to the many people she knew for every occasion.
Rose was a devoted wife, caring for her husband until his passing in 1995; and a caring mother and grandmother to her sons and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She was a beautiful piece of her family's life, and her gentle soul will be forever present in their thoughts and hearts.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visi-tation will not be observed.
