DELEVAN, N.Y. - Shir-ley F. Nowocien, 77, of Route 16, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at ECMC in Buffalo, N.Y.
She was born Dec. 24, 1935, in Salamanca, N.Y., the daughter of the late Emerson and Loretta (Drew) Milks.
On March 5, 1982, she married Joseph Nowocien, who survives. Mrs. Nowocien had worked at Knowles Fisher and also at Motorola. She also was an avid bingo player.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons: Roy (Nancy) Keith of Little Valley, N.Y., Michael Keith of Kennedy, N.Y., and Larry (Cheryl) Keith of Bliss, N.Y.; two daughters: Patty (Joe) Lange of Delevan, N.Y., and Laurie (Jim) Struck, also of Delevan, N.Y.; a stepson Joe (Eileen) Nowocien of Sanborn, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, David (Pauline) Milks of Salamanca, N.Y.; and five sisters: Ann Howard of Little Valley, N.Y., Lauralee (Don) Hettenbaugh, Linda (Barry) Gower and Bette (Jim Snyder) Atkins, all of Randolph, N.Y., and Mary Jane (Kevin) McLaughlin of Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Janice Hinman.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley, N.Y., on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Sue Fish, officiating.
Burial will be in Little Valley Rural Cemetery.
