Michael Moots, executive director of the Jamestown Community College Foundation, was recently elected to the United Way of New York State board.
United Way of New York State is a statewide membership organization dedicated to strengthening the capacity of local United Ways to be leaders in achieving results that improve the lives of all New Yorkers.
Moots brings 25 years of United Way experience to the state board. He served as executive director of the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County from 1990 through 2011. During that time he also chaired the United Way of New York State's Professional Advisory Committee and served on the organization' board for six years.
Moots' United Way career began in Youngstown, Ohio. He and his wife Cathy live in Lakewood.
