FREWSBURG - Derek Smith scored a majority of his points when Frewsburg (4-7, 7-10) took charge and recorded a win over Cattaraugus-Little Valley in Division 2 boys basketball on Friday night.
Smith tallied 16 of his 18 points as the Bears went on 41-22 run in the second and third quarters en route to a 69-52 win, despite 30 points by Colt Agnew.
Alex Elderkin supported Smith with 15 of his 22 points in the second half, including three threes. He also controlled the boards with 12 rebounds.

Nick Munella had nine rebounds and two steals while Josh Nelson blocked two shots and handed out four assists for the Bears.
Agnew was on fire throughout with 13 points in the opening half and 17 after intermission for C-LV.

WARRIORS WIN IN OT
SALAMANCA - Tanner John excelled in overtime for Salamanca in Division 2 basketball.
John made 4-of-5 foul shots and a basket for six of the 11 overtime points that Salamanca (4-7, 7-9) managed in pulling out a 74-69 win over stubborn Cassadaga Valley (3-8, 8-9).
Cassadaga Valley's Tim Bender, who probably had a career high 28 points, was clutch when he sank three free throws with just three seconds left in regulation to tie it at 65-65.
Then in overtime, Salamanca, behind John's, made 9-of-11 free throws en route to 14 points. Bender sank two three pointers for CV and earned praise from Salamanca coach Brian Koscielniak.
Bryce Stahlman made three threee on the way to 19 points to be high for the hosts. Jared Fish added 18 points followed by John with 11 and Tyler Siperek with 10.
Fish led in rebounds with 11 and Stahlman was one back with 10 for the Warriors.
In addition to Bender's scoring, he had five steals, five assists and five rebounds for the Cougars.
Randy Dalaba was a double-double performer with 21 points, including 11-of-14 from the foul line, and 11 rebounds while Kyle Ruge contributed 11 points in the loss.
