Vince DeJoy has moved one step closer to officially taking over the role of executive secretary for the Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency.
DeJoy, who was nominated to serve in the position during a press conference on Wednesday, was unanimously voted in during Thursday's meeting.
"I'd like to commend the mayor on making an excellent choice," said Greg Rabb, D-president-At-Large. "I look forward to working with Vince in his new capacity even though it's going to create a hole for us in City Council. As the chair of the Finance Committee, he helped to guide us through five difficult budgets."
Several other resolutions were passed during the meeting, including a $368,000 contract for services to the city of Jamestown, the $1,045,333 administrative budget for 2013 and the continued use of Samuel Price Jr. as legal counsel for the Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency.
Prior to the public portion of the meeting, Mayor Sam Teresi and the members of the Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency met in executive session to discuss a personnel-related topic.
