Ross Grange met Jan. 28 with Robert Goodwin presiding. Elaine Melquist reported on the recent County Pomona Grange meeting hosted by Ross Grange members. Various legislative issues were discussed at that meeting.
A letter of appreciation was received from the Buffalo Veterans Hospital for the Veterans Day cards sent by Ross members. A letter of thanks was received from the Department of Army for grocery coupons sent to overseas military families. Jamestown Salvation Army sent thanks for afghans given for the Battered Women's Shelter.
Members signed up to make cakes for the "Have a Heart for 4-H" dinner at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds on Sunday, Feb. 17. Those interested in pre-sale tickets should contract Opal Sprague by Monday.
The program arranged by Betty Wakefield included "How to Cook a Husband," a questionnaire on American presidents and information on the three biggest cherry pies.
The next meeting will be Monday with snacks at 2:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 3 p.m.
