Phillip J. "PJ" Belote Sr., 76, of 224 Lister Ave., Falconer, passed away Monday (Feb. 4, 2013) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa.
Phillip was born May 18, 1936, in Eden, N.Y., the son of the late Leo and Grace Brunner Belote.
He enlisted in the United States Marines on Jan. 12, 1954. After his term in the U.S. Marine Corps he worked at Chautauqua Hardware, Sterling Worth and later by Falconer Plate Glass.

Phillip enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and collecting U.S. Marine memorabilia and steins.
Surviving are his wife Joan L. Belote, whom he married July 8, 1978; two sons: Phillip "John" (Cheryl) Belote Jr. of Charlotte Center, N.Y., and Monte (Jennifer) Belote of Ocala, Fla.; three daughters: Kimberly (James) Gardner of Belleview, Fla., Wilma Wilburn of Belleview, Fla., and Robbin (Guillermo) Novoa of Bradyville, Tenn.; a stepson, Micky (Cathy) Mata of Kennedy; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth (LaVern) Altenberg of Jacksonville, N.C., and Eunice Merchant of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jasmine Belote; a brother, Perry Belote; a sister Alberta Pollaro; and a nephew Tony Pollaro.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
