Thomas J. O'Connor, 51, of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at home. He was born Aug. 12, 1961, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Ret. Lt. Col. Rex and Joan O'Connor of San Antonio, Texas.
Prior to his retirement due to disability, Tom was working for CSR West in Las Vegas, as vice president of development. Throughout the years of his career in finance management, he and his family also lived in Houston, Texas, Valley Cottage, N.Y., and Wellington, Fla.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his loving family, automobiles, riding his motorcycles, and prior to his disability, was an avid golfer. He had a big heart, always welcoming visitors to his homes with open arms.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lori J. Anderson, with whom he would have celebrated 25 years of marriage this coming August; their daughter, Sara and their son, Travis, both at home; brothers: Bill (Gail) of Florida, Kevin of Colorado, Tim (Gayla) of Indiana, and Michael (Nicole) of California; sisters: Kathleen and Mary (Gary) Rice of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Palm Eastern Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nev. Memorials may be made to The American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Association at www.afsafund.org.
