The Jamestown High School Raider Reader Book Club held a swap event held in the school's library.
The club's goal is to encourage reading in their peers. Raider Reader book Club holds a Book Swap twice a year, before the holiday break and the end of May. Donations of high-school level reading materials are accepted throughout the school year. Students come down during the book swap and find new reading material and leave their own books for others to enjoy. Many students find books for presents for family members.
"The great thing about the book swap is that the selection changes all day," said Barbi Price, Jamestown High School English Language Arts department chair. "We are so thrilled that the math and science departments also sent their students down to the swap. It is nice to have cross-curricular support for ELA at JHS."
Jordan Seager, Olivia Zabrodsky, Robbie Higdon and Mia Gable, Jamestown High School Raider Reader Book Club members, recently prepared for their annual book swap held in the library.
