Robert E. Johnston Sr.,
69, of Jamestown, passed
away Wednesday (Jan. 30,

2013) in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident,
he was born March 8, 1943, in Jamestown, the son of
the late Harrie and Martha
Saulsgiver Johnston.
Robert attended Falconer
High School and was a
veteran of the U.S. Army,
serving during the Korean
War. In earlier years he was
employed by Pearl City
and currently was employed by Meals on
Wheels.
He enjoyed spending
time with his family, listening to country and
bluegrass music, computers, coffee shops and animals.
Surviving are three sons:
Robert E. (Brenda) Johns-
ton Jr. of Sugar Grove, Pa.,
James E. Johnston of Cherry Creek, William T. Johnston (Bernice Coleson) of
Ashville, Tammy L. Johnston, Kimberly (Simon)
Bhatti and Lorraine (Jacob)
Lopez, all of Phoenix,
Ariz.; and 14 grandchildren: Travis Johnston,
Christopher Johnston, Julie
Weaver, Andrew Johnston,
Michael Johnston, Andrea
Johnston, Amber Johnston,
Krista Kay, Michael Kay,
Dylan Kay, Makayla Johnston, Melia Johnston, Jere-
miah Bhatti and Isaac Bhatti; a brother Terry A. (Judy)
Johnston of Bemus Point;
and two sisters: Betty S.
(Tim) Rhodes of Jamestown
and Patricia (Skip) Hays of
Ellington.
Besides his parents he
was preceded in death by a
sister, Sally A. Verrett.
A memorial service will
be held at 1 p.m. Friday in
the Falconer Funeral Home.
The Rev. David Olson pastor of Ross Mills Church of
God will officiate. Inurnment will be in Ross Mills
Cemetery.
The family will receive
friends one hour prior to
the memorial service.
Memorials may be
donated to a charity of
one's choice.
