Phyllis L. Erickson, 92, of Mattson Road, Jamestown, died at 11:40 p.m. Monday (Jan. 28, 2013), in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born Sept. 17, 1920, in Jamestown, the daughter of Leonard E. and Alma L. Johnson Lawson.
A 1938 graduate of Jamestown High School, she was also a graduate of Jamestown Business College. She had been em-ployed as a legal secretary at several law firms both in this area and in California.
She was confirmed in the Bethel Lutheran Church and was a life member of the Fluvanna Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, knitting, puzzles and going for rides.
Surviving are a son, Dennis B. (Karen) Erickson, and a daughter, Linda S. Er-ickson, both of Jamestown; and two grandsons: Jeffrey M. Erickson of Cortland, N.Y., and Kevin E. Erickson of Lakewood, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burwin E. "Swat" Erickson, whom she married Dec. 2, 1943, in Santa Barbara, Calif., and who died Jan. 20, 2001; a sister, Marian Bell; and a brother, Stanley Lawson.
The funeral will held be at 11 a.m. Friday in Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
