Jamestown fell behind early, but was able to recover quickly to edge City Honors/JFK, 5-4, in Western New York Varsity Hockey League action on Friday night at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena.
Down a goal in the first period, the Raiders scored two goals 30 seconds apart late in the first to take a 2-1 lead as Rick Hassleman netted the first goal on a feed from Justin Andriaccio and Eric Daugharthy, and Dylan Bergman scored the second on passes from Bill Krywy and Dylan Ferrara.
City Honors/JFK picked up their second goal 30 seconds into the second period to tie things up, but another goal by Hasselman, assisted by Collin Abbott andAndriaccio, allowed Jamestown to take a one-goal lead into the third.
The Raiders got a goal from Abbott about one minute into the third period with assists by Andriaccio and Gib Stuart and Jamestown's last goal of the game was by Bergman, assisted by Ferrara and Daugharthy.
The Raiders maintained first place in the White Division with a three-point lead over City Honors and will take on Southwestern tonight at 8 p.m. on Senior Night at the JSB Arena.
On Thursday, Jamestown tied Meadville, 4-4, as Stuart and Krywy scored twice in the Lake Shore League.
Stuart got his two goals in the opening period and Krywy both of his in the second period.
Meadville had three goals in the first and one in the second. There was no scoring in the third stanza.
Dylan Bergman had two assists, and Jake and Justin Andriaccio, David Lobb and Anthony Tomassi one each for the Raiders.
Tom Fales was in goal for Jamestown.
