CLARENCE - Quinn Lee Yaw and Tommy Campion led a fourth-quarter run that carried the Jamestown Red Raiders to a 64-51 victory over Clarence in an Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 basketball game Friday night.
The win improves the Red Raiders' record to 11-2 overall and 6-1 in the division, heading into Tuesday's showdown at Williamsville North. The Spartans handed Jamestown its only league loss earlier this month.
''It's good to see us rebound like we did tonight,'' Red Raiders coach Ben Drake said. ''That sets up Tuesday, which is just huge. It's the biggest game of the year so far.''

Campion, who poured in a game-high 24 points, also had eight points in the final period. The senior guard, who shot 8-of-17 from the floor, also had four assists and four steals.
''We played great defense in the fourth quarter and we rebounded (Clarence's) misses,'' Drake said. ''We limited them to one shot and we were beating them up the floor and getting layups, thanks to great passes around the baskets.''
Sophomore Branden Kellam added six points and nine rebounds and Stephen Carlson pulled down eight rebounds off the bench. Jamestown outrebounded Clarence, 37-22. The Red Raiders were also a blistering 27-of-49 from the floor.

RANDOLPH - The final seven seconds were decisive as Randolph lost a heartbreaking game to Portville.
Leading,50-49, with seven seconds left, Portville missed the front end of a 1-and-1 foul shot but Curtis Caya got the rebound and stuck it home for a 52-49 verdict before a capacity crowd on the Cardinals For Cancer Night.
Randolph inbounded the ball but couldn't get a a shot off as the buzzer sounded and the Cardinals were left with an 8-5 overall record and 5-3 in the league.
The Cardinals had been trailing by 16 points in the second half, but reserve Lucas Brown provided plenty of energy and steals. So much so, that the Cardinals took a 49-47 lead on Nate Beaver's basket only to have Zach Blask nail a 3-pointer inside the final minute to give Portville its seventh win in eight league games.
Blask led Portville with 22 points on 11 field goals, including four from the arc. Josh Watson contributed 12 points.

BROOKS SHINES
SILVER CREEK - The way Silver Creek (13-0, 8-0) head coach Rob Genco was talking after his team's 81-72 win over Salamanca (6-7, 3-5), one would have thought the Black Knights' perfect season had come to an end.
"I've been trying to switch it up defensively," Genco said. "Trap a little more, press a little less, try a little zone (defense), more man ... I'm trying to find the right recipe for us defensively. We let up 72 this game. Against Frewsburg, we let up 55 ... 79 at Randolph. We're averaging 80 points a game, but we need to score 80 points a game, because we wouldn't win if we weren't scoring."
Down by 15 with 5:45 left in the third quarter, Salamanca began to chip away at Silver Creek's lead, getting it down to seven as the teams headed into the fourth quarter.
Salamanca kept the pressure on Silver Creek in the fourth, as Jared Fish scored eight of his team-high 26 points, but it was a pair of 3-pointers - one by Jarron Ball and another by Tadd Beattie - that kept the Warriors in the game.
Ball's trey cut the Black Knights' lead to 70-67 with just more than four minutes left in the game while Beattie's got the Warriors to within four, 74-70, with just more than two minutes left in regulation.
However, as they did all game, the Black Knights had an answer for whatever the Warriors threw at them, as they outscored Salamanca, 7-2, to close out the final eight minutes.
Of the 81 points the Black Knights tallied, a game-high 27 were scored by sophomore Bill Brooks, who finished with a triple-double after grabbing 12 rebounds and swatting away 10 shots by the Warriors. Brooks added five steals and four assists while Kaine Kettle chipped in 20 points, eight assists, four rebounds and four steals. Also for the Black Knights, Zed Williams, who was honored before the game for scoring 1,000 points in his varsity career, finished with 11 points, eight assists, eight steals and seven rebounds.
Marcey finished with 12 points, Brennan White added 11 points, six of which came in the fourth quarter, for the Black Knights. Tanner John chipped in 17 points in a losing effort for Salamanca.

DRAGONS ROLL
MAYVILLE - The Maple Grove Red Dragons (10-1) used a stingy defense to take down the Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds (4-3, 5-7), 78-46.
"It was their ball pressure," Chautauqua Lake coach Chris Dole said. "Their diamond press killed us."
The Red Dragons jumped out to a 13-4 lead early in the game. However, the Thunderbirds went on a 9-0 run to tie the score, but it was the closest they would get the rest of the way as the visitors responded with a 10-0 run and never looked back.
"They went on a run and we couldn't handle their pressure," Dole said. "That was the game right there. We couldn't get the ball over half court. The things we tried just weren't working."
The Red Dragons outscored the home team 30-12 in the second quarter to take a 53-25 halftime advantage.
"Our kids aren't used to playing that up-tempo," Dole added. "They did what they needed to do. They came in with a four-game win streak and they shut us down."
The Thunderbirds were haunted by 26 turnovers.
The Red Dragons were led by Aaron Germain's 16 points and Austin Goerke's 15. Jimmy Kistner added 11 points for the victors.
Chautauqua Lake was led by Ian Clute's 15 points and 10 rebounds.
