January 26, 2013
The Post-Journal

RANDOLPH - The Randolph community showed support for one of its own Friday with a fundraising effort at the high school that included a spaghetti dinner, a raffle, an auction, boys varsity and junior varsity basketball games and a special show of solidarity from the Cardinals' boys soccer team.

Money raised from the events will benefit Marianne Carpenter, the wife of Mike Carpenter, the assistant boys soccer coach, and the mother of Nick Carpenter, the Cardinals' varsity goalkeeper. Marianne was diagnosed with cancer last September and has been undergoing treatment ever since.

In addition to Mike and Nick Carpenter, the other members of the varsity soccer team who shaved their heads were Dustin Botzenmayer, Coach Dave Levandowski, Marcus Miller, Cody Hubbard, Nate Ploetz and Skyler Schapp.
