Miller’s Double-Double Leads CVCS

SINCLAIRVILLE - Cassadaga Valley's Shawana Miller netted 21 points and 14 rebounds, along with three blocks and three steals in leading the Lady Cougars to a 68-45 victory over Cattaraugus-Little Valley in Division 2 girls basketball on Thursday night.

Miller led a balanced attack as Cassadaga Valley (3-4, 5-7) jumped out to a 32-20 advantage by halftime and a 20-6 run in the third put the game away.

Kristi Zink added to the offensive attack with 16 points and also had seven steals in the win.

For the Lady Timberwolves, Katie Reynolds was solid with 18 points and Megan Jones added 11 points and seven steals. Kaylee Eaton contributed five assists.

MAYCOCK LEADS CARDS

PORTVILLE - McKenna Maycock delivered a double-double as Randolph stayed within a game of front-running Frewsburg.

Maycock tallied 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with eight assists and two steals as the Lady Cardinals downed Portville (5-7), 47-39.

Maycock scored seven points in the first quarter and nine in the fourth in leading Randolph to a 31-24 margin. Teammate Mandy Finch brought down eight rebounds.

SALAMANCA WINS WITH D

SALAMANCA - Playing strong defense in the second half resulted in Salamanca (8-4, 4-4) defeating Silver Creek, 32-21.

Alyssa Coustenis and McKayla Sluga each had 10 points to lead the winners. Coustenis had four steals and four rebounds while Shae Smith added nine rebounds and five steals.

Jordan Brooks had 16 points and 13 rebounds for Silver Creek.
