Prepare to see white for the foreseeable future. And throw in some wind, too.
A lake effect snow warning for all of Chautauqua County could dump 1 to 2 feet of snow in the region, the National Weather Service is reporting. The winter warning is through 7 p.m. Tuesday, while a wind chill advisory remains in effect through 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service is projecting 4 to 8 inches of snowfall today, with another 5 to 9 inches tonight. Tuesday could bring an additional 5 to 9 inches, as well.
But the bigger concern may be the wind chill factor; with winds up to 15 to 25 mph, the National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Chautauqua County - with values as low as 15 degrees below zero.
All told, the Southern Tier could become a winter wonderland.
