Bernice K. Raistrick of Greenhurst, N.Y., passed away Jan. 16, 2013, in Lexington, Ky. She was born July 8, 1920, in Lewis County, Ky. She is the daughter of the late Henry Walker Kidwell and Bessie May Pitts Kidwell. Bernice was the wife of the late Gardner W. Raistrick for 67 years.
She graduated from Flemingsburg High School in 1938 and attended Mill-er School of Business in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduation she worked in personnel for General Motors Corporation in Anderson, Ind. Bernice was a member of First Baptist Church of Jamestown, N.Y., and active in the church for many years. Remocwen Club, Opti-Mrs Club, and Daughters of the American Revolution were some of her memberships. Her favorite interests were bridge, genealogy and the Kentucky Derby.
Bernice is survived by her three children: Ann R. Fiser (Kenneth) of Lexing-ton, Ky., Albert L. Raistrick (Betty) of Greenhurst, N.Y., and Debra R. Gruber (Richard) of Arlington, Texas. Six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive her. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 358 E. Fifth St., Jamestown, N.Y.
