Attention ladies. Did you ever want to learn the basics about wild turkey hunting? How about string and bow and sending an arrow whizzing toward a bullseye? Or maybe try a little ice fishing?
Here's a golden opportunity. The National Wild Turkey Federation Lakefront Gobblers Chapter invites ladies to an NWTF Women in the Outdoors event from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Feb. 2 at Chapman State Park in Clarendon, Pa.
Women ages 14 and older of all outdoor skill levels - especially beginners - are welcome and will receive hands-on training from friendly, expert instructors. It's a chance to have fun, learn outdoor skills and make new friends.
Some of the classes will include archery, ice fishing, turkey 101, geocaching, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, winter bird ID/nature walk and trapping 101/fur ID.
Required pre-registration is $55 and includes an NWTF membership, a one-year subscription to Turkey Country magazine and an NWTF membership decal. The cost is only $20 for current NWTF members.
To sign up or for more information, see the online registration form or contact Kristen Giger at kgiger@nwtf.net or at (814) 450-1614
