Bemus Point Man, 75, Charged In Sex Abuse Case

ELLERY - A Bemus Point man is in Chautauqua County Jail following a lengthy sexual abuse investigation.

Ralph J. Bush, 75, of 39 Alburtus Ave., Bemus Point, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, second-degree sexual conduct against a child and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department says Bush sexually abused two adolescent females at his residence at various times between June 2011 and December 2011.

Following an investigation by the sheriff's department, Chautauqua County Child Protective Services, the Chautauqua County district attorney's office and the Child Advocacy Program of Chautauqua County, a warrant was issued for Bush by the Town of Ellery Court.

Bush was taken into custody Friday without incident and arraigned by Justice Randall Present. Bush was committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash/$40,000 property bond.
