Melinda Berg was awarded the WCA Foundation Vivian Wettingfeld Scholarship to help her in her nursing education at Jamestown Community College.
Ms. Berg is a nurse aide at WCA Hospital and a third semester nursing degree student. She anticipates her registered nursing degree will help her be even more involved in the care plans of her patients. As a registered nurse, she anticipates being a patient advocate with the doctors of WCA Hospital and her patient's families.
The scholarship award is given to an employee of the hospital who is pursuing continuing education in the specific field of nursing. When setting up the Vivian Wettingfeld Scholarship in memory of his wife, the late Dr. Robert Wettingfeld wanted to give nurses the opportunity for further education so they could enjoy their nursing careers as much as his wife had.
Paul Fardink, secretary of the WCA Foundation board, presents the Vivian Wettingfeld Scholarship award to Melinda Berg, a nurse’s aide at WCA Hospital.
