Danielle M. DeJoy of Jamestown, an accountant with Ernst & Young LLP, recently became licensed to practice as a certified public accountant in New York.
To obtain the license, Ms. DeJoy passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting examination, which consists of a four-part, 16-hour exam covering the areas of financial accounting and reporting, auditing and attestation, business environments and regulation. Candidates for the CPA designation must satisfy extensive educational requirements from an accredited institution and fulfill stringent experience requirements.
Ernst & Young is considered one of the "Big 4" accounting firms, making it one of the largest accounting firms in the world. Ms. DeJoy works as a staff auditor in the Advisory Services line, specializing in risk, out of the Buffalo office. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Ms. DeJoy attended St. John Fisher College in Rochester, where she earned her bachelor's degree in accounting in 2010 and her MBA in accounting in 2011.
