Mary J. Gilbert

Mary J. Gilbert, 85, formerly of 140 Aldren Ave., Jamestown and Falconer, passed away Friday (Dec. 28, 2012), in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.

A lifelong area resident, she was born Sept. 5, 1927, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Albert B. and Ethel Martinson Hall.

Mary was a 1945 graduate of Falconer High School, and in earlier years was employed by the former Davis Drug Store, Carlson Drug Store and later by the Village Pharmacy.

Surviving are her son Gregg H. (Bonnie) Gilbert of Glen Allen, Va.; a brother, Frank (Jane) Hall of Falconer; four grandchildren: Kara (Jim) Peterson of Jamestown, Kristine (Robert) Samuelson of Falconer, Leah (Greg) Blackburn of Henrico Va., and Molly (Doug) Currin of Hewitt, Texas; two nephews: Mark Hall of Kenai, Ark., and Mathew Hall; a niece, Rebecca (Gunnar & son, Wayne) Carlsson of Falconer; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold P. "Pete" Gilbert, whom she married Dec. 29, 1945, and who died Nov. 28, 1999; a son, Stephen Gilbert on May 27, 2008; a brother, Richard J. Hall, who died in 1960; and a niece, Roxanna.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer. Visitation will not be observed.

The family suggests all memorials should be given to your personal charity and spending time with loved ones.
