Georgianne S. "Giggs" Gustafson, 74, of 1267 E. Second St. passed away on Sunday (Dec. 23, 2012) in the Olean General Hospital.
An area resident for most of her life, she was born June 2, 1938, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late George A. and Florence Bentley Rasmussen.
She was employed by several nursing homes and later worked for the Warren State Hospital. She also worked in food service for many years, as a waitress and cook, retiring as dining room supervisor at the Adult Day Care Center.
She was a member of the Lakewood Moose Lodge 2237. She also liked to draw, paint and write poetry. She was a member of the International Society of Poets and won several Golden Poet Awards. She was also an avid pool player and played for several leagues.
Surviving are three sons: Robert Green, Jerry Green and Guy Green; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Arthur, Arnold and Gerald Rasmussen.
As per her wishes, services will be private and no visitation will be observed. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
