Janis Romaine Peterson Jungquist, 88, of Brea, Calif., died Dec. 18, 2012, following a long illness. She was married to F. David Jungquist in 1943, who precede her in death in 1994. They formerly resided at 149 Maple St., Jamestown, before moving to California in 1970. They spent their summers at Penn Highland Campgrounds in Russell, Pa.
While residing in Jamestown, she was active in Thule Lodge and Rebecca's. When her children were young, she was a stay at home mom, like most women in her era. After her children were grown, she worked for Marlin Rockwell, Jamestown City Clerk's office and retired from Transamerica Insurance Co. in Los Angeles.
Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, spend-ing time with friends and reading.

She enjoyed a very busy and fruitful life. She is survived by her daughters: Charlene (Steve) O'Dell of Las Vegas, Nev., and Linda (Ron) Robillard of Brea, Calif.; and her sons: Bruce (Cindi) Jungquist of Aurora, Ohio, and Russell (Debbie) Jungquist of Kingman, Ariz. Besides her children, she is survived by 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
