Anderson Honored By NYSACFO

Mike Anderson was recognized by Section 6 of the New York State Football Federation on Nov. 3 at Ralph Wilson Stadium as the recipient of the service award for football officials in 2012.

This was Anderson's 29th year as a member of the Southwestern Chapter of the New York State Association of Certified Football Officials. He served on the board of directors of the chapter for many years, during which time her served as board member, vice president and president from 2003 to 2005. He previously served as the chapter's junior varsity assigner and is currently the chairman of the audit committee, which oversees the chapter's internal rating system.

He also assists teaching the new candidates rules course.

On the field, Anderson has worked many Section 6 championship games, in addition to working several games at the state-championship level.

He closed out the 2012 season by working the Section 6 Class D championship game at Ralph Wilson Stadium and the Class D Far West Regional game .

Anderson is a graduate of Jamestown High School and St. Bonaventure University with a degree in accounting. He has been employed as business manager for the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities for the past 29 years. In 2010 and 2011, Anderson served as co-president and treasurer of the JHS Football Booster club.

While his love of football officiating has provided him with many memorable experiences, Mike's greatest joy continues to be his family. He has been married to his wife Nancy for 27 years and they have three children, Cody, a financial consultant with AXA Advisors in Williamsville, Claudia, a marketing major at St. Bonaventure University, and Curry, a student at Wyotech, studying collision repair.
