Betty Lou (Youngberg) Spina, 83, of Firetown Road, Simsbury, Conn., died Dec. 19, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital.
She was born Nov. 21, 1929, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late Carl and Mildred (Olsen) Youngberg.
Betty lived in Jamestown, N.Y., and Demarest, N.J., prior to moving to Simsbury in 1996.
Betty is survived by her three daughters: Nadine Spina Schumacher and her partner, George Ratto, of Granby, Conn., Christie Spina Farber and her husband, James, of Lafayette, N.J., and Jamie Spina Assaiante and her fiance, Michael LeFebvre, of Simsbury, Conn.; grandchildren: Philip Schumacher, Kevin Farber, Peter Farber, Erica and Scott Feinstein, Brad and Bonnie Farber, Leslie Farber, Kristen, Scott and Matt Assaiante, Katie, Dylan and Alex LeFebvre; great-grandchildren: Jake, Jenna, Jonah and Julia; and her sister, Karen Youngberg.
She was predeceased by her stepmother, Sophie Youngberg; and her former husband, James Spina.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow St., in Simsbury on Sunday, Dec. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m., at the Simsbury United Methodist Church, 799 Hopmeadow St., in Simsbury. Private burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Jamestown, N.Y.
