BUSTI - A Jamestown man is in Chautauqua County Jail for a flurry of charges and outstanding warrants following a traffic stop in the town of Busti.
Police stopped Michael A. C. Davis, 28, of Jamestown, at 11:50 p.m. on Saturday for a series of lane violations in which he was observed driving erratically on Forest Avenue Extension. Davis was found to be intoxicated and driving on a suspended non-driver identification only.
An open alcoholic beverage was observed in Davis' vehicle at the time of the stop. He refused a breath and chemical test.
According to a police report, records showed that Davis had an outstanding warrant for his arrest issued by the Chautauqua County Family Court for failure to pay child support. The City of Jamestown Court also had warrants out for other charges, the sheriff's department said.
Davis was taken into custody and arraigned in the Town of Busti Court for traffic charges as well as the Family Court warrant. Bail was set at $3,500 and Davis was taken to Chautauqua County Jail.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, refusing a breath test, open container of alcohol, unlicensed operator, failure to keep right, driving across hazardous markings and moving from lane unsafely.
