LAKEWOOD - The Ellicott Police Department is seeking public assistance to identify two people following a forgery at a local Wal-Mart earlier this month.

Police have released two photos taken from surveillance video showing the two people leaving the Lakewood Walmart on Fairmount Avenue with merchandise purchased with a stolen credit card on Dec. 7.

According to Det. Brad Knight of the Ellicott Police Department, the credit card was stolen, along with a laptop, out of a vehicle the same day as the forgery. The card was used to purchase $500 worth of merchandise, Knight said.

A digital video snapshot taken on Dec. 7 shows a second man, believed to have used a stolen credit card, exit the Lakewood Wal-Mart.

"We're hoping if you know them, you will recognize them," Knight said. "We understand these are not the best photos, but we're hoping someone will be able to identify them."

The suspect in the yellow hooded sweatshirt was wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers hat, police say.

Anyone with information regarding the forgery is asked to call the Ellicott Police Department at 665-7083.
