The Post-Journal

Benjamin Friedlander, an English professor from the University of Maine, discussed elements of the 21st century avant garde poetry movement and conceptual writing during interactions with students in a Writing About Literature class at Jamestown Community College's Jamestown Campus in early November. Dr. Friedlander's visit was coordinated through the Lenna Endowed Visiting Professorship program sponsored by JCC and St. Bonaventure University. Friedlander, who also serves as an editor for the National Poetry Foundation, has published several books on literary criticism and poetry and is completing work on Emily Dickinson and the Civil War: History, Language, Trauma.
