A grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation's Axel W. Carlson Memorial Fund has helped Family Service of the Chautauqua Region replace its entryway roof.
"The old roof had become damaged from poor drainage and ice back-up" said Donna Vanstrom, executive director of Family Service of the Chautauqua Region. "The result of this damage was that the roof had rotted and become a safety hazard."
Funding from the Axel W. Carlson Memorial Fund will be used to replace the existing roof and install ice and water barriers along with new gutters and down spouts to minimize the likelihood that the problem will happen again.
