Creche Spreads Holiday Cheer

December 16, 2012
The Post-Journal

During this holiday season the Creche organization will help more than 70 area children from local school districts and their families through an outreach of their Community Service Holiday Project. Co-chairs Sue Schifano and Brenda Fitzgerald express many thanks to the Old Navy store at the Chautauqua Mall for a generous discount on the clothing purchases and for the helpful assistance of their staff. Two other co-chairs of the project, Dorie Deyo and Julie Mula, also express thanks to the nearly 30 Creche members and their daughters for their shopping and wrapping as well as for their donations and personal delivery of the gifts. In addition to clothing items being delivered for each child, there are also gift bags for the families containing toys or books, personal hygiene items including toothbrushes and toothpaste generously donated by Dr. Andrew Kohl, and a Wal-Mart gift certificate for groceries. Each family also receives an encouraging Christmas letter from Creche. Pictured are Myra Blasius, Creche volunteer shopper; Sue Schifano, co-chairman of the Holiday Project; and Mary Franklin, volunteer.
