BUSTI - Southern Tier Brewing Company officials will donate a portion of all Empty Pint brewery pub sales through Dec. 19 to a charity chosen by each of the company's employees.
All of the money raised will be distributed equally among the 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.
"We have hosted a number of fundraisers over the years, unfortunately we're asked to do more than we can handle," said Sara DeMink, brewery vice president. "The 'Month of Giving' idea is to have each of our employees pick their own special cause as a way to help out a wider range of important causes. We have a great group of people working for us, the program was received very well. Everyone chose something close to their heart. Now it's in the hands of the people who visit the brewery. The best part is that none of the organizations know it will be getting a gift from us. That's our new year surprise."
The Empty Pint is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
