WARREN, Pa. - Dr. Arun Kumar, Ph.D. recently joined the engineering team at Superior Tire & Rubber Corp. as a principal engineer.
Kumar will be responsible for research and development of new products and technologies and act as senior technical adviser to assist Superior Tire & Rubber Corp's engineering team on technical projects.

His addition to our engineering team will allow us, a proud American industrial products designer, manufacturer and solutions provider, to take a leadership position against competitors from Europe and Asia," said Paul Blasco, Superior Tire & Rubber Corp's vice president of manufacturing.

Kumar recently obtained his Ph.D. in plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, Mass.; where he also earned his Masters of Science in plastics engineering.
Kumar holds his bachelor's degree in polymer science and engineering.
In addition to his extensive expertise in polymer and nano technology, Kumar also has diversified technical skills in part design and simulation, solid modeling, finite element analysis, six-sigma, statistical quality control, and engineering project management.
Prior to joining Superior Tire & Rubber Corp, Kumar was working as a graduate research assistant at the Center for High Rate Nano-Manufacturing at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
He had also worked in the design and development department of Apollo Tyres Ltd.
Kumar and his wife Aparna, who also is a Ph.D graduate in biotechnology, live near Warren, Pa., where Superior Tire & Rubber Corp's headquarters and manufacturing plant is located.
