ORCHARD PARK - The Jamestown Red Raiders felt right at home Friday night, even if they had to take an 80-minute bus ride to get there.
Tommy Campion poured in 28 points, Quinn Lee Yaw had 17, Branden Kellam 12, and Zack Panebianco added nine points, 11 assists and five steals to lead the Red Raiders to a dominant, 87-46, victory over Orchard Park in an Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 basketball game.
The win improves Jamestown's record to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the division, heading into its home opener Tuesday against Clarence.
If the Red Raiders continue to play like they did last night, they'll be tough to beat.
Campion, who poured in a career-high 31 points against St. Joe's on Tuesday, continued his torrid pace, hitting 7-of-13 shots from beyond the arc. Four treys came during his 16-point third quarter, during which Jamestown outscored the hosts, 30-15.
''He was really feeling it there in the third quarter,'' Red Raiders coach Ben Drake said. ''Everybody did a nice job of finding him and setting him up, too.''
Jamestown actually gave itself a comfortable lead in the early going, outscoring the Quakers, 23-5 in the first quarter. The Red Raiders led, 39-20, at halftime - Lee Yaw had three dunks and Kellam added two in the first 16 minutes - and the margin ballooned to 69-35 heading into the final period.
''We were the better team,'' Drake said. ''I'm just glad to see us play sharp. Sometimes you worry you're not going to play your best basketball, even if you're the better team. I was glad the way we played. The guys who played the fourth quarter played well. They were diving on the floor, even when we were up 40.''
In addition to his banner offensive night, Campion added four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Lee Yaw, who shot 8-of-11 from the floor, grabbed six rebounds to go along with three assists, and Stephen Carlson brought down a team-high eight boards.
Austin Goltz led Orchard Park with nine points.
The Red Raiders' junior varsity opened its season with a 57-41 victory.
Zacc Kinsey led the way with 21 points and Derek Foe chipped in with 14.
