The Post-Journal

WESTFIELD - The Chautauqua County Vegetarian-Vegan Society will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the YWCA, 58 S. Portage St., Westfield.

The program will be a holiday get-together. There will be finger foods and holiday music. A few food-related games or quizzes will take place to test knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating, with prizes awarded to the winners.

The menu will be holiday finger food pot luck. Those coming are invited, but not required, to bring a finger food to share which will serve between eight and 12 people, as well as the recipe.

Some suggestions are party sandwiches; raw vegetables, with or without dip; fresh fruit; nuts and dried fruits and cookies. All food should be vegan, with no meat, eggs, milk, butter or other dairy products used in preparing it, and should be organic if possible and able to be eaten off a paper plate. The cost is $6 a person or free for those bringing a dish. To make a reservation, call Gail at 753-7761 on afternoons and weekends or 753-2205 on weekday evenings, call Anne at 782-4334 or email annewatkins@juno.com.

All meetings are open to the public. Those attending do not need to be vegan or vegetarian to attend a meeting. Meetings are open to anyone interested in learning about healthy eating and living.
