The man suspected of fatally shooting Keith Reed, Clymer Central School superintendent, is expected to be returned to Chautauqua County sometime this week.
David Foley, Chautauqua County district attorney, said Anthony R. Taglianetti failed to file a writ of habeas corpus in Prince William County, Va. As a result, Taglianetti is eligible for "immediate return" to New York to answer a second-degree murder charge.
According to Foley, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies are expected to retrieve Taglianetti "within the week."
It is believed Taglianetti drove six hours from Virginia to New York and shot Reed on Sept. 24 outside his home on Clymer-Sherman Road. Taglianetti was named as the suspect in Reed's killing Sept. 27, and taken into custody the next day near Shenandoah Valley National Park in Virginia.
He then fought extradition from Virginia.
Foley has been in contact with the commonwealth of Virginia throughout the investigation and preparations for the trial.
