Dorothy A. Matjoulis

Dorothy A. Matjoulis, 71, of 38 Flagg Ave., Jamestown, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in WCA Hospital, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Corry, Pa., the daughter of the late Lora Cornish Schenck.

Dorothy was a 1959 graduate of Eisenhower High School. She had worked at The Place and the College Inn, both in Jamestown. She loved her family and grandchildren dearly, and enjoyed going to the casino with family and her friend, Betty Jo.

Surviving are two daughters: Stacy Matjoulis (fiance, Chuck Immordino) of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Julia (Jason) Helsel of Lakewood, N.Y.; a son, Thomas (Erin) Matjoulis of Ashville, N.Y.; six grandchildren: Blake, Brinn, and Bryson Matjoulis, Hayley Tracy, Jacob and Connor Manley; three brothers: Paul "Junie" (Jackie) Schenck of Bemus Point, N.Y., Ronnie (Donna) Schenck of Lottsville, Pa., and Kenny Schenck of Bear Lake, Pa.; three sisters: Phyllis Jordan of Lottsville, Pa., Helen Kjornsberg of Lakewood, N.Y., and Pauline Schenck (Bob Girts) of Jamestown; her former husband, Nick Matjoulis; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Bob and Albert Schenck; and a sister, Dorie Sechriest.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Inurnment will be in the Bear Lake Cemetery with her mother.
