FRANKLINVILLE - Pins played in major role in Randolph getting its wrestling season off to a good start in Division 2 on Wednesday night.
The Cardinals recorded six pins to Franklinville's (1-1) four and that was the difference in a 42-33 decision.
The fastest pin by the winners was at 182 pounds where Jimmy Carr put Damon Vroman on his back in a quick 13 seconds.
The last match at 145 pounds was where Austin Shapp came through with an 8-7 win over Pat DeFoe that clinched the victory.
Randolph coach Todd Conley was pleased with first-time starter Dennis Andrews pinning Carl Ratzel at 4:41 at 195 pounds.
Conley also praised the work of 120-pound Tristan Holdridge, who got an upset 12-9 win over Devan Wessolek of Frankinville.
