Officers from the Jamestown Police Department are searching for the owner of a white Ford Focus that was involved in a hit-and-run accident that occurred late last week.
Police say that the victim was traveling northbound on North Main Street near 14th Street in Jamestown when a small, white sedan attempted to pass on the left hand side on Thursday at 7:17 p.m.
According to police, the passing vehicle crossed the double yellow line then swerved back into the northbound lane striking the victim's vehicle and causing damage to the left front quarter panel and headlight. The subject in the sedan left the scene prior to officers arrival.
No injuries were reported at the time of accident. The victim was unable to record a license plate number and no other descriptions of the suspect's vehicle were reported. A passenger side mirror from the suspect's vehicle was recovered at the scene. The mirror was identified as belonging to a 2008 to 2011 Ford Focus.
