Salamanca Girls Win Their Tourney

SALAMANCA - A good start enabled Salamanca (2-0) to win its own girls basketball tournament on Saturday night.

Salamanca jumped out to a 13-0 lead after the first period against Pine Valley and that was the difference in a 34-21 title victory.

Shae Smith scored 13 points and Alyssa Stahlman brought down 12 rebounds in the win.

Kayla Mansfield grabbed 16 rebounds and Bentham had seven points for Pine Valley (1-1).

In the consolation game, Gowanda (1-1) won over Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School (0-2).
