Betty A. MacAdam passed peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012.
She was born Oct. 30, 1928, to Reva and Eldon McLachlan in Evart, Mich. She was one of four chil-dren and lived on a working farm.
She excelled in school and enrolled at Michigan State at the age of 16. There she met her future husband, Howard B. MacAdam. They resided in Grosse Point, and she began her teaching career in Detroit's inner city. Later, Howard elected to accept the position of athletic director and basketball coach at Buffalo State Teachers College, and sadly Betty left her precious Michigan.

After 33 years of teaching, raising two beautiful daughters, and fulfilling the duties a coach's wife entails, she announced "my turn." She designed the home they built in Imperial Golf Estates in Naples, Fla., joined the club, and ran the couple's golf league, "just like a school teacher."
Betty resumed her passion for bridge and entered tournaments acquiring quite a sizeable amount if master points. She was on the board of trustees of NCH during its fruition and co-chaired the Bioethics committee from 1998 to 2004.
Betty adored her "dear dear friends" and enter-tained often. Although ad-mittedly not a good cook - we all enjoyed her "nice salad." She never really re-tired from teaching. She happily tutored children of friends and neighbors and any adult that crossed her path that could not read or write, she offered her tu-telage - no charge. She be-lieved strongly that our purpose on this earth is to help others and she did. We give her an A+!
She was preceded in death by her two brothers; loving husband, Howard; and cherished grandson, Tommy J. Pawelski.
She is survived by her sister, Donna Franguemont; two daughters: Casey Pawelski (Joe) and Nancy Lee MacAdam; and her "can do no wrong" grand-daughter, Carrie Pawelski. She will be sadly missed, but most importantly, hap-pily remembered by us all.
