Erene Society To Meet Wednesday
The St. Nicholas Orthodox Church ladies Erene Society will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, hosted by Norma O'Kelley. Athena Constantine, president, presided at a recent meeting. Discussion was on setting up for the bazaar and the bake table. Chairwoman for the event are Christina Anderson; Helen Vulgaris, bake sale; Ms. O'Kelley, Christmas crafts; Virginia Cummings, lunch; Violet Kianos, tickets; Athena Dimitri, raffles; Stephanie Lamproplos, salads; and Ms. Constantine, Kitchen. Donations were made to the National Philoptochos Building Fund in New York City, St. Susan's Kitchen and The Salvation Army. Ms. Vulgaris celebrated her birthday. Ms. O'Kelley served refreshments.
Antique Study Club To Hold Meeting
Antique Study Club members will meet at noon on Wednesday. Gale Peterson, Lorraine Bowman, Sally Swartz, Barbara Dunderdale, Nancy Shelters and Harriet Smith are the committee. The next meeting will be on March 6, 2013. Twenty-five members met recently in the Lakewood Community Center. Yvonne Lee, president, opened the meeting with a flag salute. Yvonne Read presented information on the bus trip and Ms. Peterson spoke on the Christmas party. Several members brought favorite items for a show and tell.
Westside Women Lunch Is Friday
Reservations are being accepted for the Westside Women's Club Christmas lunch at noon on Friday in Alfie's Restaurant. Don Sandy, an accordion player with a Swedish heritage, will present a musical program. Hostesses are Allie Withers and Ruby Burns. Members attending should take a donation for the Chautauqua Blind Association. Elaine Damsteegt, chaplain, opened the last meeting and lunch, attended by 18 members, with a reading for Thanksgiving. Reports by the secretary, treasurer and fellowship committee were accepted as read. Rene Panosian, of Beaver Creek, Ohio, spoke and gave a presentation of a tour of Europe. She displayed souvenirs from many European countries.
