Jamestown Community College's music ensembles will present two distinctly different concerts during the week of Dec. 11.
Admission to each concert is $4, general public; $3, area students and senior citizens; and $2, JCC Faculty Student Association members. Tickets can be purchased by calling the JCC box office, 338-1187, at the theatre door prior to performances, or online at campusstore.sunyjcc.edu.
JCC's choir, concert band, vocal jazz ensemble, and jazz ensemble big band perform at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 11. The choir, under the direction of Brian A. Bogey, will perform "For Unto Us A Child Is Born," "Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella," "Angels We Have Heard On High," "Can You Read My Mind?," "Don't Cry Out Loud," "Gonna Build a Mountain" and "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."
The vocal jazz ensemble, directed by Michael F. Kelly, will present "Jazz Cantate," "A Holiday Jazz Trio," "My Funny Valentine" and "The Longest Time."
The jazz ensemble, directed by Ralph Rasmusson, will perform "Peppermint Tree," "Land of Make Believe," "Waterfall," "Get It On" and "Critical Mass."
Rasmusson will also direct the concert band in performances of "Mount of Might," "Heraldic Legend," "Suite of Old American Dreams," "West Side Story Medley" and "Nearer My God to Thee."
On Dec. 13 at 7 p.m., the JCC rock ensembles, directed by Bill Eckstrom, will present Winter Jam. Bands, ranging from rock to acoustic sets, are featured. The concert will be fully staged with sound and lighting by Steve Gustafson.
