TITUSVILLE, Pa. - Davonte Dunham poured in 22 points, including four 3-pointers, Tyreek Jewell added 14 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds and the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team rolled to a 28-point basketball victory, 90-62, over host Pitt-Titusville on Wednesday.
The win was the fifth in a row for the streaking Jayhawks, improving their record to 6-3. The win also marked the third-straight contest in which JCC has scored at least 90 points while holding opponents to fewer than 79.
A suffocating defensive effort in the first half carried the Jayhawks to victory, their second of the season over the struggling United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1 squad.
Jamestown held the Panthers, now 1-10 overall, to just 22 points in the opening 20 minutes on 6 of 34 shooting (17.6 percent) from the field and for the game racked up 10 steals and forced 17 turnovers.
While holding the Panthers' offense in check, JCC put up 41 points by half and then scored 49 in the second to cruise to the victory.
Dunham, who was one of four JCC players to reach double-digit points, also hauled in six rebounds and made four assists while Kenny Stokes connected on 7 of 12 shots on the way to netting 17 points with six rebounds and five steals.
Leading the way in defeat was Mark Houston, who recorded a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds to help Pitt-Titusville score 40 points in the second half and keep the game relatively close.
JCC will be looking to keep the winning streak going on Saturday when it hosts Beaver County Community College at 5 p.m.
