Police Seek Black Car, Woman Driver Involved In Hit-And-Run

November 29, 2012
The Post-Journal

A 68-year-old Jamestown woman suffered significant damage to her car after she was rear-ended Saturday morning and Jamestown Police Department officials are seeking the public's assistance in finding the suspect.

Police say the victim was driving northbound on Winsor Street when she stopped at a red light around 8 a.m. at the intersection with Crescent Street in her 2007 Nissan Versa. The victim was then rear-ended by a black car with a driver described as a woman between the ages of 25 and 35, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 130 pounds with dark hair.

The suspect allegedly slid into the 68-year-old woman's car because of snow that had built up on the road.

The two women pulled their cars into a gas station to exchange insurance information when the suspect told the 68-year-old woman that she didn't have time to wait for police so she would write down her information. Police are saying that the information was false and are now looking for the suspect.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the JPD at 483-7537. All callers can remain anonymous.
