Blood Drive Set For Dec. 6

The public is invited to donate blood at the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities Red Cross Blood Drive, set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the BPU Education Room, 92 Steele St., Jamestown. Sloppy Joes prepared by BPU employee volunteers will be served to blood donors. Donors may access the BPU Bloodmobile by entering the "D" driveway at 92 Steele St. to the BPU parking lot. Facing the building from the parking lot, one should enter the Visitor Entrance or the right door under the green awning beside the BPU Customer Service Department. Once inside, sign in at the window and take the elevator to the first floor. Donors must be at least 17 years old, in good health and will need picture identification. Walk-ins are welcome. To arrange an advance appointment, call Becky Robbins, BPU communications coordinator, at 661-1666.

Winter Meat Party Set For Friday

FREWSBURG - The Frewsburg American Legion will host its winter meat party at 7 p.m. Friday, featuring steaks, hams and loins. Cash prizes will also be awarded. A Model 93, Bolt action Savage 22 mag rifle will be given away at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person. All proceeds will benefit the children's Christmas party.

Counselors To Host Aid Program

In cooperation with area high school guidance counselors and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Jamestown Community College will host free "Fund Your Future" college financial aid information programs at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 and Jan. 8 at JCC's Jamestown campus. Both sessions will be held in the Carnahan Theater, located in the Katharine Jackson Carnahan Center. Parking is available in the James Avenue parking lot. The program will help families explore how to plan for college expenses and apply for college financial aid. Details on how to file the 2013-14 free application for federal student aid will also be outlined. Information on the array of scholarship opportunities available through the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation will be available. Families can pre-register for a session at www.sunyjcc.edu/admissions/financial-aid/fund-your-future/register. Additional information is available by calling JCC's financial aid office, 338-1009.

Class Of '68 To Hold Dinner

Jamestown High School Class of 1968 is holding their Christmas "Girls' Night Out" dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. at the House of Petillo. Reservations are necessary by emailing Roganne Zach Scoma at rmscoma@yahoo.com.

JPS Board To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary School for its regular meeting. The public is invited to attend. Executive session will precede the meeting at 5 p.m.

Kiantone Church To Decorate

KIANTONE -Kiantone Congregational Church members will meet from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, to decorate the church for Christmas. A dish-to-pass dinner will follow. Participants should take their tableware. A piano concert of Christmas music, featuring Dr. Amber Shay Nicholson will begin at 7 p.m.
