Elaine L. Kesby, 78, formerly of 6 Glenview Ave., Jamestown, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 21, 2012) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
A lifelong area resident, she was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Sigfred and Mabel Gavert Carlson.
Elaine was a graduate of Jamestown High School and the WCA Hospital School of Nursing.

In earlier years she was employed as a registered nurse for WCA Hospital where she worked for 20 years.
She was a longtime ac-tive member of the First Covenant Church where she enjoyed participating in many of the Women's Circles of the church. She was also a past member of the Allen Park Women's Club.
Surviving is a daughter Linda Myers of Jamestown; two grandchildren: Eric M. Lyons of Jamestown and Rebecca L. Ensminger of Ashville; and a great-gran-ddaughter. Olivia G. Lyons of Jamestown.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Kesby, whom she married Jan. 21, 1956, and who died Jan. 14, 2006; two daughters: Cheryl A. Kes-by, who died Sept. 29, 1998, and Barbara J. Kesby, who died May 21, 2004; and a sister, Dorothy Fey.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Mr. David B. Larson, retired director of visitation for First Covenant Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
