Mary Margaret “Chipper” Barrieau

WESTFIELD - Mary Margaret "Chipper" Barrieau, 74, of 26 Cass St., Westfield, N.Y., died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Absolut Care of Westfield.

"Chipper" was born Feb. 2, 1938, in Westfield, N.Y., the daughter of the late Carl C. and Lucy M. (Calabrese) Cogliano.

A Westfield resident all her life, she had been employed as a cash applications clerk for Welch Foods in Westfield for more than 25 years, retiring in 2000. She had also been employed by General Electric at the Erie plant offices for more than 16 years. She was a member of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Parish of Westfield, and a life member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, watching her programs on TV and traveling when her health would allow.

She is survived by her son, Paul Barrieau, and her grandson, Tyler Carl Hatling, both of Minnesota; several cousins; one niece; two nephews; and two aunts also survive. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Cogliano of Centerville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death her brother, Joseph Cogliano Sr.

No calling hours will be observed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, 15 Union St., Westfield, with Father Joseph Walter officiating. Private burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
